The 28th of October, 1940: War between the neighboring countries was declared on October 28th, 1940, with the Italian attack at Pindos, after the famous avowal of “NO” by Greece as an ultimatum to Italian dictator Benito Mussolini. This is what prompted Greece to enter the Second World War, which had already started back in 1939 between the Axis Powers (Germany, Italy and Japan) and the Allied Forces (Great Britain, France, USSR, China, etc.).
