Evagelismos Theotokou of Monte

The monastery is located in an overgrown area, between the villages of Christos of Raches and Frantato. According to the inscription outside the monastery’s temple, it was built in 1460 and renovated in 1983. In the middle of the 20th century, the monastery was used as a sanatorium. The infectious disease of tuberculosis killed only 4 from 150 patients that were hospitalized there, and their graves are near the monastery.

Inside the church, which is dedicated to the Annunciation of Virgin Mary, there is an elaborate carved Epitaph, which was constructed in the beginning of the 20th century in Smyrna, Asia Minor. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to gaze at icons of the 20th century, creations of a painter named Zosimas, a wooden temple and two old icons.
