Katarraktis

It is a coastal resort that attracts many people during the summer months. In the picturesque harbor of the village you will find many taverns, where you can enjoy fresh seafood.


Of particular interest is the old village of Katarraktis, which is built a few kilometers outside the village and was abandoned after the earthquake of 1881. In the area you will find ruins of medieval buildings as well as several Byzantine churches. The most notable of these is the church of Agios Ioannis Argenti, which was built in the 14th century and until today have been preserved the beautiful mosaics, the arches and the ornate iconostasis.
