Paleokastro

Paleokastro is located in a green valley, only five kilometers away from the capital, Vathi. It has taken that name due to the remnants of a castle existing on the site, In the village live about 557 residents, who are engaged in tourism and agriculture (mainly growing olive trees, vines and tobacco).

Sights of the village are the churches of Virgin Mary and Saint George, with the old icons and carved wooden screens. You can also visit the small chapels near Paleokastro, which had been built in the 17th and 18th century (Saint John, Evangelistria, and Saint Tryfon).

Finally, for those who love sea, we would suggest that you go for a swim at the cosmopolitan beaches of Kerveli, Posidonio, Mycale and Psili Ammos to enjoy their crystal clear waters and the beautiful view to Asia Minor.
