Perdiki

On the northeast side of the island, the beautiful village of Perdiki is located, which is actually one of the largest settlements of Ikaria. It took its name after the first settler (his name was Perdikis), a name that is mentioned on a contract of 1681.

Take a walk through the narrow streets of the settlement, to see the beautiful houses and churches of the 17th and 18th century, as well as the old wind mills. Near the central square of the village, the Folklore Museum of Perdiki is installed. You should pay a visit in order to have a look at its rich collection of folk art exhibits.

For those of you who are fond of hiking, you should follow the path that leads to the overgrown canyon of Aygolimi and admire the inlet of Drakospileo. Near Perdiki you will also find the old castle of “Kefala” , which is known as Lefas’s Castle, as well as the deserted settlement of Skales.

Finally, the beautiful beach of Agios Fokas is ideal for a swim.
