Pyrgos village

In an overgrown area, full of olive trees and vineyards, between the rivers of Amfilyssos and Imvrysos, stands the village of Pyrgos. It is located in the center of the island and surrounded by green mountains. The village has been named after the homonymous town of Peloponnesus, from which the first settlers came.

Take a walk through the narrow alleys among the picturesque houses and the old churches of remarkable architecture. There, you can find traditional taverns and cafes waiting for you to relax and enjoy delicious appetizers and hang out with the hospitable locals. Sights of the settlement are the churches of Virgin Mary (built in the late 19th century) and Saint George (built in the beginning of the 20th century). There is also a well-preserved traditional mill. Finally, only a breath away from the village, you will find three caves, which you should visit, in order to admire their rich interior decoration.
