Sarantaskaliotissa cave

In area of Marathokampos, there is also the church-cave of Panagia Sarantaskaliotissa. It owes its name to the forty old steps leading to its entrance. This cave is located on the east side of mount Kerkis, at an altitude of 320 meters. At the caves entrance you will find the church of Virgin Mary, which shows great interest both religiously and historical.
