Vavili

Vavili is 7 km away from the town of Chios and is close to mountain Anemona. It is an area with rich vegetation as well as with many rural areas. Here is grown a variety vegetable product, small amount of mastic and the famous sweet beans of Vavili. According to tradition, the village was built by slaves of the Genoese, who settled in the area. It is worth visiting the Byzantine Museum of the settlement, where are illustrated elaborate images of the church of Panagia Krinas and other religious items.
