Agio Galas Cave

It was explored in 1969 and is located near the village of Agios Galas. It is the biggest cave of the island because it is consisted of three different caves that extend below the village. Inside it there are traces of human presence dated back to the Neolithic Age (6,000 BC).

It is worth it to visit and admire the elaborate limestone formations and the spectacular morphology. It should be noted that near the cave is located a second one, where stands the Byzantine church of Panagia Agiogalousenas as well as the small chapel of St. Anna.

Visitors can visit the cave only with the presence of a guide.
