Campos

Also on the west of Evdilos, in a beautiful valley that is crossed by the river Voutside, you will find the village of Campos. It is a village of great historical interest, since this is the area that Oenoe, the ancient principle town of the island, was installed. It is worth visiting the archaeological site of Campos, which is located on the very same hill that Oenoe used to be. In the same area you will also find the Byzantine temple of Saint Irene, which is not far from the Archaeological Museum of Campos where you can make a visit and gaze the remarkable exhibits that are housed there.

Campos is famous for its beautiful sandy beach and its crystal clear waters. Finally, a few kilometers outside the village, near the settlement of Pigi, you will find the famous monastery of Saint Theoktisti, a very impressive chapel built under a huge rock
