Carnival in Inousses

A custom that revives every year in Inousses is the “Paraloges”, meaning songs and stories sung and danced by the locals during the Carnival, a big celebration of the agriculture almanac.

The tradition and customs of Ιnousses are a patchwork of many areas from where the local cultural identity has been influenced.  The region received strong influences mainly from Chios and Asia Minor, the hometowns of the first inhabitants of the island.

The folklore tradition of the island is strong and usually reflected in music and dance tradition that the locals try not only to maintain it but even to enhance it.
