Drakei
Drakei is a small village, built in a remote rocky location on mount Kerkis, in the northwestern part of Samos Island. It is, just like Konteika, named after the surname of its first settler. It is worth a visit in order to admire the area’s wildlife, the fantastic view to the Aegean Sea and the magnificent sunsets. There, you can also find the beautiful old temple of Saint George, which dates back to the 13th century.
Not far away from Drakei, You can find the famous shipyard of Saint Isidore. Before you leave the area, make sure that you make a stop at Pyrgaki location, where it is said that there had been built a small tower (“vigla” in Greek), and admire the incredible view stretching in front of your eyes.
