Evagelismos Theotokou of Mavrianos

The monastery, which was built in the late 18th century, is located in a coastal area not far away from the settlement of Amalos. Judging by marble and ceramic findings in the monastery’s area, as well as by a marble column’s base, experts suggest that under the monastery it is possible to be found the ruins of an ancient temple or maybe an ancient settlement.

The monastery has ten cells. Inside the small temple, which is dedicated to Virgin Mary, you will find a woodcut temple and a remarkable icon of Virgin Mary, both of which date back to 1820-1821.

Finally, it should be noted that the monastery celebrates on the 25th of March.
