Folk Museum of Kallimasia

The Museum is located in the village of Kallimasia of the municipality Ionia. It was founded in 1995 and has over forty traditional trades and occupations of Chians of the 19th as well as of the 20th century.

A tour at the museum will take you to an earlier era, when women used the loom and spinning wheel for knitting and the men plough the fields with the plow. It is worth it to visit and see for yourself the interior of a traditional house and learn about the tools that were used in occupations that in modern times have been eliminated.
