Kotsinas

What I will see and do around Kotsinas village:

•   Church Zoodochou Pigis (Lifegiving Spring)
•   Statue of the Legendary Maroulas
•   Hot springs and thermal baths of the Limnian earth
•   Seaside taverns

Along the northern coast of the island you’ll find the historic village of Kotsinas.   Look for the 64 steps leading to the holy water spring at the church Zoodochou Pigis, built in the 15th century.  Here you will find the legendary heroine Maroula, who bravely put up a strong resistance against Suleiman in 1478.  Her statue adorns the courtyard of the temple, and the whole scene will take you back to stories and times of the past.

In the area around Kotsinas are mines of a therapeutic and healing type of clay, popular since ancient times.  In addition, the area has many seaside taverns where you can enjoy fresh seafood, while listening to the splashing of waves along the shore.
