Manolates
Manolates is a village climbed up on a mountain, with 131 inhabitants, located 25 kilometers away from the capital of Samos. It is named after the surname of an old family that lived in the old village. The area around the village is overgrown and ideal for agriculture.
It is worth following the great path that leads to Manolates through all the wild lush vegetation. Among the sharp turns you will find the wonderful locations of Platanakia, Valiontates and Aydonia. Walk through the narrow cobblestone streets of the village and enjoy the great view of the deep blue sea. Among the old houses, emerges the imposing church of Zodochos Pigi, where huge celebrations take place during Easter.
Finally, you could visit the abandoned settlement of Margarites (Daises) with dilapidated houses and the church of Saint George with its old murals.
