•    Learn the secrets of sponge diving, stories told by the divers and learn of the beneficial qualities of natural sponges
•    View the original sponge diving suits and equipment, the boats used and other sponge diving treasures

The Maritime and sponge fishing museum, is located in the village of Nea Koutali, and focuses on the maritime and sponge history of the island, based on the traditions of the original Koutalians who lived here and founded the local sponge diving industry.  Admire the diving suits and equipment, the boats used and the many products made from and associated with sponges.  Some of the artifacts on display include old photos of the first divers, original anchors, ceramics and all the sunken treasures found on the seabed floor.
