Skopelos village is built at the foot of mountain Karionas and has a great view at the Gulf of Gera. It is the largest settlement in the municipality, known due to the “Burrows of Magdalene”, as the early Christian catacombs existing beneath the Saint Mary’s Magdalene Church, are called. A walk in the village square with its beautiful trees and its marble fountain, will inspire you.
