Avgonima

Near Anavatos you will find the medieval village of Avgonima with the little houses as well as with the hospitable locals. You can stroll in the narrow streets of the village and admire the beautiful tower houses.


For those who want to relax from the trip, they can stop to dine on the stone square of the village with the small taverns and admire the beautiful sunset overlooking Psara.


A kilometer outside the village is the famous Nea Moni (“New Monastery”), which is one of the most remarkable monuments in the world. Other important monasteries of the area are the Moni Agiou Markou (“Monastery of St. Mark”), the Moni Agion Pateron (“Monastery of the Holy Fathers”) and the Moni Kourna.


Last but not least, you can enjoy a swim in the pristine beaches of Yali and Metohi (“Shares”) which are close to the settlement.
