Cyclopean wall

On the hill of Saint George, north of the village of Fourni. There you can see a part of a Cyclopean wall of a prehistoric fortress with some huge curved stones. The circumference of the outer wall, which is actually built in places where the steep hill would allow access, was about 300 meters, and the staircase you will see was probably leading to the entrance of the castle.

At the top of the hill were a citadel and a sanctuary. At the very same place there are also found some stones with inscriptions which mention the gods of Samothrace, the founder of the citadel, while on the stone wall there is an inscription dedicated to god Hermes.
