Transportation by Sea to Chios

Your journey to and from Chios island by sea can take from 2 to 18 hours depending on the port that you will decide to depart  and of course the number of islands that the ship will stop.

Chios is connected throughout the year with the port of:

      Piraeus (daily travel that last from 6 to 9 hours)
      Mytilene (daily travel that last 3 hours)
      Thessaloniki (5 times per week travel that lasts 18 hours)
      Samos (4 times per week travel that lasts 4 hours)
      Limnos (4 times per week travel that lasts 9 hours)
      Kavala (4 times per week travel that lasts 16 hours)

During the turistic period there are routes to and from Ikaria, Kos, Rhodes as well as Kalemnos.

 

What is more, every day there are boats that can take you to the nearby Cesme of Turkey, which is only one hour away from Izmir. Last but not least, you can take a tour to the heroic Psara and Oinousses that are 2 to 3 hours away from the island.

The routes for the moment are those mentioned, but it is wiser to ask agents about any changes that may occur.

Air Transportation to Chios

Chios is connected through air all year round with Athens, Thessaloniki, Lesvos, Samos, Rhodes and Limnos by Olympic Air Company. Moreover, there are routes to and from Athens with Aegean Airlines Company as well as from and to Thessaloniki with Astra Airlines Company. During the summer months direct flights connect the island with other foreign cities (Amsterdam, Brussels, Ljubljana, Prague and Oslo).
