Therma Site

East of the village of Therma, you will find the famous ancient town of Therma. It used to be a settlement known throughout the ancient world, because of the mineral hot springs (from which it received its name) and people from all over Greece and Asia used to visit it, for its healing qualities. In the late 3rd century BC, took the name “Asclepius”, after the ancient god of medicine, Asclepius. These springs were disappeared into the depths of the sea after a landslide.

Nowadays, are preserved the remnants of the Greek-Roman Baths, which you can find in Chalasmena Therma location. Important findings from the ancient Therma, you will see at the Archaeological Museum of Agios Kirikos.
