Zodochos Pigi of Samos

The monastery of  Zodochos Pigi, which is also known as Ailiotissa, is climbed up on the mountain Rampaidoni, about 13 kilometers northeast of the capital town of Samos and it was built by a monk named Dorotheus in 1756.

There, you will have the opportunity to admire an ornate wooden temple, columns of the ancient temple of Miletus, an Episcopal throne carved, as well as many beautiful paintings. Its temple is gild, executed by an artist named George Talantos in the early 19th century.

This monstery is built at an altitude of about 350 meters and has a fantastic view to Asia Minor.
